Can you have apples and pears on a family fruit tree?
Question
On family fruit trees can you get apple and pears on the same tree?
Ros from UK
Answer
Thanks for your interesting question. The answer is no - a family tree must be either all apples or all pears. This is because the rootstocks used for apple trees and pear trees are of different species and not compatible with each other.
