Crab apple trees

Malus Golden Hornet

Golden Hornet

Golden Hornet produces pink-white blossom in spring, followed by a mass of small yellow fruit which will stay on the tree until late in the year providing a useful colour feature in the garden. The leaves also turn an attractive yellow colour in autumn.

Golden Hornet is an excellent pollinator for most apple varieties, as it produces a lot of blossom over a long period.

Pollination guide for Malus Golden Hornet crab apple trees

Malus Golden Hornet is self-fertile and does not need a pollination partner, although fruiting may be improved if there is a compatible tree of a different variety nearby.

Like most crab-apples it blooms over a long period and is therefore a good pollinator for other apple and cider-apple varieties flowering at the same time.

Important: advice about pollination
