Delivery and Delivery Charges
Delivery charges - mainland UK
All our prices are inclusive of delivery charges to the mainland UK, so the price you see is the price including delivery to your door. The mainland UK includes all of England and Wales, plus southern Scotland (south of an approximate line Dundee - Glasgow).
Our delivery charges are based on costs agreed with local couriers in each of the countries we deliver to. This means the prices of our trees are not affected by the address of the customer, so sending trees to relatives overseas as a present can be quite affordable.
Other delivery destinations
We are able to deliver to the rest of the United Kingdom including Scottish Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.
Our trees also have the EU "plant passport" certification, therefore we can deliver to most countries in western Europe.
There is a modest extra cost for delivery outside the mainland UK, and this is calculated automatically at the checkout. More details of delivery costs outside the UK mainland are on this page.
Delivery periods
If you order a mixture of container-grown and bare-root trees, they might arrive in separate deliveries depending on the time of year. This is because bare-root trees can only be shipped during winter (when they are dormant) whereas container-grown trees can be shipped over a longer time period, generally from September to April.
If you have particular delivery requirements you can specify the details at the Checkout. However we cannot guarantee delivery by or on a particular date because shipping dates are dependent on many factors, particularly the weather. Container-grown trees are generally less affected by weather than bare-root trees, and during the period September to April will probably be despatched within a week or so of your order. We will notify you when your trees are being prepared for delivery.
Time of order
You can place an order on our system at any time throughout the year, but we can only despatch your fruit trees between September and April (for container-grown trees) or during winter (for bare-root trees). Orders received after April will be delivered from September onwards. In the event of stock shortages, orders are fulfilled on a first-come first-served basis.
